The GCSWCD office is located in the Greene County Office building on Greene County Route 24 (Mountain Ave) in Cairo. We are located in the central area of the county just off NYS 23. Use the following directions and map to find our office.
From the North & South:
If you take the Thruway, exit at Catskill (Exit 21).
From the toll booths you take a left onto Greene County Route 23B and go about
1/4 mile to entrance to NYS Route 23 West.
If you come up or down NYS 9W watch for NYS 23 West (its on the North end of Village of Catskill)
Turn Either way, you want to be heading towards Windham).
Continue West on NYS 23 to the 3rd traffic light and exit left onto CRT 23B. Go
straight through traffic light at intersection with NYS 32 and into Cairo. The
Great American will be on your left and Cumberland Farms on the right. Continue
straight on CRT 23B for 1/2 mile until you come to the red light at the intersection
with CRT 24. There is a mobile station on the left, school and bank on the right.
Make a left onto CRT 24 just past the gas station. As you crest the first hill,
turn right into large driveway at top of the hill. First sign you see is for Angelo
Canna Park. Our office is located in the large brick building at the bottom of
the hill. Come to the back entrance, and we are on the first floor, room 122.
From The East & West
From the East, cross river at Rip VanWinkle Bridge,
continue straight on NYS Route 23 towards Windham,
then follow directions above.
From the West, take NYS Route 23 East and down off the mountain.
Just before you get to the point where 23 goes back to 4 lanes,
watch for Greene County Route 23B on your right.
It is just before the large signs over the highway.
Follow 23B into Cairo and watch for the red light.
Turn right and follow directions above.
From Hunter Area: Take route 23a East to light at NYS 32
(Stories Corner). Take left onto NYS 32 North and take to Cairo.
At light in Cairo, turn left onto CRT 23B and proceed to
red light. Follow directions above.
