Labor Day Weekend 2001

The project is moving along nicely and the weather is being very cooperative. As the project shut down to give the workers of both the contractor and GCSWCD a well deserved rest over the holiday weekend, significant progress has been made on the site.  At this point, the necessary fill materials have been taken from the two pond sites and borrow area #1 on the upper terrace. The channel plan form is constructed from station 0+00 to 00+00  which covers 6 of the 19 meander bends to be constructed.  4 of 10  Cross vanes and 16 of 60 rock vanes have also been completed.  BY 9/8/01 the first section of the project will be hydroseeded and mulched.  Below are some updated pictures, including some shots from a NYCDEP helicopter on 8/30/01
