Nine Days after construction, the Brandywine site was hit with what appears to be the flood of record for the watershed. With 12" of rainfall in the headwaters, the new construction experienced some damage from the flood waters. Unfortunately, photos of the project post construction had not been taken. The photos below are from an aerial series taken post flood in the spring of 2000. As you will note, while some damages were evident at the structures and the lower meander experienced a lateral migration, the project still did a remarkable job holding the constructed planform and profile. For additional information on the flood damages and the repairs, see the flood page.   Brandywine & Tropical Storm Floyd September 16, 1999
