With increasing interest in our projects from our partners and others, each flood event make everybody curious as to how the projects held up. As needed, we will  post links on this page to pictures and narrative from the most recent storms

Tropical Storm Floyd  -  September 16-17, 1999

On Wednesday September 16th 1999, Tropical Storm Floyd hit the Batavia kill Watershed and resulted in possibly the highest flood levels recorded for the watershed. With 12" of rain in the headwaters and two demonstration projects completed less than 9 to 21 days prior to the flood event, the project experienced some damages.

December 16-17, 2000 Run Off Event

On Saturday and Sunday the 16-17th of December, Greene and the surrounding counties experienced a rainfall dominated event with rainfalls as high as 3.5 to 4 inches in the Catskills. The event occurred on frozen ground, with only a few inches of snow present. Check out the links to each project below to see pictures taken during the peak of the runoff event as well as the following Monday. The GCSWCD only posted pictures of the project completed this season.
