Schoharie Watershed Month |
|
Schoharie Watershed Month is a chance for you and/or your organization to take ACTION. Whether it’s planting trees along our streams, cleaning streams, building a rain garden, disconnecting your downspout, or monitoring your local stream, participating in Schoharie Watershed month will give you the opportunity to protect, preserve, or restore our local waterways. Schoharie Watershed Month is a community- and family-oriented event that will provide a host of fun educational activities on water quality for the entire Mountaintop. Watershed Month activities and events will offer something for everyone. Please join us, host an event, pitch your idea to our committee, or volunteer to help. |

Host an event!
Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District is using Schoharie Watershed Month to help local organizations, businesses, community groups, and students sponsor an event that will take action to protect our streams. If your organization would like to host an event, please contact our office at 518-589-6871 or Josh@gcswcd.com. If you have an idea or need a suggestion we can help you put it together. |
|
Funding for Events
If you have an idea for a Schoharie Watershed Month event and need funding, please think about using our Schoharie Watershed Advisory Committee grants as a funding source. Click Here the application. The deadline for the grant application is August 1st and February 1st. For this year’s events it is recommended that you apply in August to give us plenty of time to work out the details, but we will also accept and review grant applications in February. |

May 2010 Schoharie Watershed Week
May 17-23, 2010 was the First Annual Schoharie Watershed Week. This event was a giant success. The First Annual Schoharie Watershed Week brought together a lot of organizations and community members who had not necessarily hosted or attended a prior water quality event.
